Outdoor learning in the natural environment

Join our engaging Forest School sessions and holiday club where children explore, learn, and grow surrounded by nature’s beauty in a woodland environment.

Twigs and Branches Forest School is based in the beautiful woodland at Little Rodmore Farm, King’s Stag, Dorset.  We can tailor our activities for many different settings, including a holiday club, Home Ed sessions, Parent and Toddler groups and family sessions.  We are also open to suggestions and requests for other groups and activities.  As well as activities in the wood at Little Rodmore Farm, we also run Forest School activities in schools.

Hello, my name is Helen.  I have always loved being outdoors and am passionate about the benefits of Forest School and children being outside in the natural environment. I have worked as a primary school teacher for 26 years and, during that time, have loved taking children outside to play, explore and learn in the nature.  Having gained my Forest School Level 3 a few years ago, I have decided to set up my own Forest School to bring the benefits of the outdoors to more children. 

As well as Forest School, I am a Guides and Rainbows Leader and run Duke of Edinburgh for Girlguiding Dorset.  I also volunteered with VSO in Guyana for 2 years.  I love cooking on fires, camping, walking, pioneering and crafts using natural materials.  I feel privileged to spend time outside and in the natural environment and hope to pass on this passion to as many people and children as possible.

16 hour outdoor paediatric first aid qualification

Enhanced DBS check

Safeguarding training

Hill and Moorlands Leader (Mountain Training England)

All our staff share my passion for outdoor learning and have experience of working with primary aged children. They are DBS checked and have received Safeguarding training.
